While Switzerland isn’t my favorite stop in Europe (France and the Netherlands are) there are many things to enjoy.
One of the things we did was look for classical music concerts. Often they’re given in the historic parts of the city and the atmosphere along with the music makes for an unforgettable experience. We attended a baroque concert in a church in the old quarter and it was amazing. It was also free.
And as you walk through the old quarters of the cities stop and look at the architectural details that abound … we don’t build or embellish our architecture this way anymore and it’s such a shame.
Europeans do stairs like nobody else. If you look there’s always a staircase leading to a room with a view.
Ah. Once again, the musicians … in this case they were students playing across the street from Zurich’s music academy. Imagine the tunes of gypsies bouncing off the walls.
And then find a cafe that specializes in fondue. While in Switzerland one must enjoy fondue and raclette.
Mmmmm. I’m waiting for my raclette to heat up.
