Rubbernecking

Standard

The other day we got stuck in a little traffic. This is not entirely surprising in Saigon as there always seems to be a lot of traffic, but this time it was slower than usual due to rubbernecking.

We could see (and hear) something neat was going on ahead.

One lane of the road was being taken up by dragon dancers accompanied by a trio of drummers.

It was the opening of a new retail shop and the dragon dance was being performed out front for auspicious chi, otherwise known as “good luck”.

You gotta love this tradition. At the very least it’s exciting and a lot of fun. Not a bad way to start an entrepreneurial adventure.
